We Are MASON
The “WE ARE MASON” program originated from a desire for the Mason community to show support and unity for George Mason University. ‘WE ARE MASON’ showcases the tradition, pride, and spirit that make us proud to be Patriots.
College Colors Day
Originating in 2005, College Colors Day is nationally organized by IMG College Licensing. Celebrated the Friday before Labor Day each year, these days seek to promote the Mason Spirit by encouraging the Mason Community to don their green and gold apparel.
Spirit Fridays, observed every Friday throughout the school year, seek to promote the Mason Spirit by encouraging students to wear their Mason Gear. Patriots found guilty of not wearing Mason gear are issued Spirit Violations by the Patriot Pride Patrol.
Don’t be in violation! Avoid a violation by following Article 1.G.11.
Article 1.G.11 of the George Mason University School Spirit Statute declares Fridays as Spirit Friday, and therefore, the school’s colors must be worn to show your pride in the University. The Patriot Pride Patrol is empowered to enforce school spirit. Anyone who does not wear Mason Gear on any given Spirit Friday is subject to receiving a Spirit Violation. The Spirit Violation provides a discount on Mason Gear at the campus bookstore to ensure your display of pride on future Spirit Fridays.
Operation Hat Trick
Operation Hat Trick (OHT) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that generates funds for the recovery, education, and future employment of service members and veterans. OHT raises awareness of veterans’ issues through its OHT branded gear and distributes financial support to organizations that provide relief to veterans and their families. When you purchase a Mason Branded OHT not only does Mason benefit but a portion of the proceeds goes to support veterans.
Mason License Plates
Mason license plate sales benefit student scholarships! Two designs exist – one with the Institutional mark and another with the Athletics mark. As a revenue-sharing plate, after the sale of the first 1,000 qualifying plates, $15.00 of the $25.00 fee is transferred to George Mason University to support scholarships for Virginia students. A portion of your fee may be tax deductible. It’s a fun and easy way to show your school spirit while helping current and future Mason students. Purchase yours today!
